Opti New England Information

Welcome to the 2011 Opti New England Championships. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Marion in a few short weeks. Please check back to this website for additional information as the event gets closer. Registration is open at the USODA website, you will need to go through the members login in order to access the registration. If you are a member of an international Opti Association, please contact the USODA office to obtain a complimentary temporary membership.

The entry fee will include lunch for competitors each day, as well as dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, and a generous snack during the awards ceremony on Sunday afternoon after racing. Lunches will be available for pickup by competitors, or their coach or parent, each morning before racing. Dinners will be served at the Beverly Yacht Club, which is a 5 minute walk from the launching area. On street parking is very limited and strictly enforced in Marion, so please plan on parking once each day in a designated area and then walking in Marion. This will be a 5-10 minute walk at the most. The entry fee also includes an Opti NE tee shirt.

There will be food available for purchase for non-competitors at the launching venue during the day. In addition, non-competitors are invited purchase tickets for the meals at the Beverly Yacht Club. Friday and Saturday night dinner is $12 per night, $8 for the awards ceremony or $30 for all three, In addition Subway lunches may be pre-ordered for race days for pickup before the harbor start at $6 per day. Please indicate if you would like ham, turkey or vegetarian, lunches will include a sandwich, chips, apple and cookie.

Fresh water is a limited resource in Marion, so competitors will not be allowed to wash their boats on site at any time during the regatta. Please do not plan on using the shower facilities at the town launch area for washing gear
